VOLUMETRIC LAB EQUIPMENT

MEASURING LIQUIDS
Choosing the most accurate measuring lab tool for a particular type of measurement is a decision that a chemist must make when selecting equipment to perform an experiment.
1.     OBJETIVES
-       Learning lab glassware in english
-       become familiar with the different pieces of laboratory glassware
-       discuss about the laboratory glassware accuracy
2.     MATERIAL
-       graduated cylinder 10 ml
-       graduated cylinder 100 ml
-       Volumetric flask 100 ml
-       Pipette 10 ml
-       Pipette 25 ml
-       Burette 25 ml
-       Beaker 100 ml
-       Beaker 250 ml
-       Dropper
-       Pipette pump
-       Water

3.     EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE
-       Identify all this volumetric material and take pictures or draw in the next boxes
pipette

burette

beaker
graduated cylinder

Volumetric flask

dropper

-       Choose the best option in each case:
a)     Measure approximately 250 ml of water
b)     Measure accurately 7 ml of water
c)     Measure 3 drops of water
d)     Measure accurately 100 ml of water
e)     Measure approximately 75 ml of water
f)     Measure accurately 25 ml of water
4.     CONCLUSIONS
-       Which piece of laboratory glassware is the most accurate?
-       Which piece of laboratory glassware is for taking approximate amounts of liquids?
